The latest issue of famitsu magazine has provided some information regarding the three games in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series.
Final Fantasy XIII
- There will be no PS3 install
- Game saves will be around 500kb
- There are few load times, and are only seen when going between towns and the field.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
- The footage at TGS was just test footage, and will not actually be in the game at all.
- The battles will be an extension of the Kingdom Hearts battle system, but with some traditional Final Fantasy elements as well.
- Lots of emphasis is going towards the level design.
- There will be a partner system, with your ally moving independently to each other.
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
- The battle system shown at TGS is close to the finalized battle system
- The game will be fairly difficult
SE released two new direct feed screenshots of Agito even though they said that the game won't be appearing in TGS. It's a pleasant surprise, but hopefully we'll get more screenshots of the gameplay sometime in the future.
According to an interview with Tetsuya Nomura in the most recent issue of Famitsu Magazine, the battle system for Agito XIII has gone through many overhauls, and in fact the screen shots and video that has been shown so far is much different than what it is now.
He also mentions that there won't be much Versus XIII news for a while, however once they are at a certain point in the development, he will show everyone something "surprising".
In the most recent edition of Dengeki, Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that at E3 a new trailer will be shown for Final Fantasy XIII. Whether or not this will be in the Closed Mega Theatre remains to be seen, but it sounds like it may be shown during one of the press conferences.
Unfortunately Versus XIII will not make an appearance at E3 in any form.
After E3 there will be supposedly something brand new about Final Fantasy XIII revealed to the public, although details are very vague.
Famitsu interviewed Tetsuya Nomura, Takeshi Nozue, and Kazushige Nojima regarding the release of Advent Children Complete, however, they also had some things to say about the Fabula Nova Crystallis games.
Final Fantasy XIII
- Voice acting is nearly complete
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
- Roen has completed the design of the characters' costumes.
- The coolness will be like nothing before(I think this is refering to the costumes)
- The cosumes are very difficult to recreate in game due to the materials used(whoa talk about detail).
Final Fantasy Agito XIII
- Four character designers are working on the game because of the massive number of characters in the game.
IGN has uploaded the most recent trailer for Agito from the Final Fantasy XIII Trial disc. This most recent edition shows gameplay for the first time, as well as featuring CGI sequences.
As expected Square Enix have brought their Closed Mega Theatre to Jump Festa, however several pieces of news have managed to make their way onto the internet. Below is a short summary of all that we have heard so far.
-A new Final Fantasy XIII trailer was revealed. Gameplay/combat was shown, with it taking the form of extremely fast turned base action.
- Several new characters for XIII were revealed. One is a blonde haired efiiminate shota teenager who wears goggles, who has been likened to Tidus. Another is a female who gives the impression of being a sister to Lightning, she has an asian appearance and a dark bob haircut and her name is rumoured to be Gado Reburo. There is also a masculine orange haired person believed to be called Tosaka.
-ACC has been confirmed for March.
- Versus shown in CMT, basically the TGS trailer with longer dialogue between Noctis and Stella.
- KH DS delayed to Spring 09. Japanese spring that is.
- All the main characters in XIII have had voices cast.
