FFXIII is being renamed "Final Fantasy XIII Ultimate Hits International" for its Japanese Xbox 360 debut. The game will arrive on December 16, priced at ¥4,980.
The "International" part of the name is explained by what exactly 360 owners will be getting on the disc. The 360 version will ship on three DVDs, the same as its overseas counterpart. The game will be playable exclusively with English voices. Subtitles will be freely selectable between Japanese, English and European languages. The theme song will be the overseas "My Hands" song from Leona Lewis. Square Enix has announced just one content change for 360 owners. The game will include an "Easy Mode" which adjusts the balance of battle, making things easier for players who want to get through the whole story. The other new features for the 360 version come in the form of a first print run bonus item, a booklet called "Final Fantasy XIII Corridor of Memory." This includes the following: Visual Art Collection A collection of all the high quality key visuals that were used domestically and abroad. Final Fantasy XIII Unused Event Scenes A look at event scenes that were cut from the final game. Square Enix has also included the script for these sequences. Final Fantasy XIII Episode i A newly created after story to the Final Fantasy XIII story, presented as a novel. The novel tells what happened to Lightning and all after the game. *Edit* The official Japanese website has updated as well. FFXIII Official Japanese Website And thanks to Oji for the scans. Gaming Union had an interview with Final Fantasy XIII Producer Yoshinori Kitase at GamesCom. While most of the interview revolved around The 3rd Birthday, they had some time to talk about Final Fantasy XIII, Agito XIII and Versus XIII. In the interview Kitase mentions that they can't commit themselves to a 2011 release date for either game, and he also explains why the development times seem to be increasing since the old days of the PS1.

If you've been following The Third Birthday tweets from Square-Enix, you may have noticed that Nomura would be thinking about answering some questions about Versus.
Well, he's been getting his tweet on and so we've created a thread dedicated to everything he tweets about the game. How long will he do this for? Not sure. But thanks to the power of social networking websites, something tells me that those long dry periods of no news won't be so bad in the future since this is just one very good way of companies like Square-Enix to keep in touch with their fans and update them on news. I mean... People tweeted that they wanted a higher resolution picture of Aya from The Third Birthday. Square-Enix listened to the fans and they got it! Perhaps this could happen with Versus too? :) *Prays for a very large picture of Stella and that a size of 200,000px would be perfect! :p*

For the first time in a while, it's been a dry spell for news. Even so, the crew still manage to talk about rumours for the Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan and even discuss Tetsuya Nomura being forced to tweet. There are also so fun listener questions to go through in a show that saw the return of David and Lauren and also the introduction of Colin. Not to be missed, that's for sure.

If you've been following The Third Birthday tweets from Square-Enix, you may have noticed that Nomura would be thinking about answering some questions about Versus.
Tetsuya Nomura revealed through a tweet today that both Versus and Agito are presently undergoing voice casting. He mentions that The 3rd Birthday's recording will end shortly and that next up is Agito. Continuing on Versus, Nomura added, "There have been many questions regarding fields. It's not a completely open world. It's like the 2D FF games in HD. Although, in terms of looks, it's not a top-down view, it's like the screenshots that have been released. You'll move through the world from that view." Nomura also tweets that Versus and Agito will not show up at Gamesom as well.
